1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Evaluation
1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
This thriller uses action, cliff hangers, particular locations. This thriller is good because the action creates suspense. The music also parallels with with the action going on in the thriller.

Sinister >
In sinister I used how someone was watching the family and following them about and the music which paralleled with action in the movie. This scene is similar in my thriller as I have the family playing and walking through the park and someone is watching them.

My thrillers music is parallel to whats going on as well, there is suspense with the in my thriller too, that creates the tension in the audience and makes them wonder what is going to happen next. My media represents different types of gender and a range of age. This Thriller is called "Girls Against Boys", my thriller is similar to this as my music is parallel to the thriller, as it makes it creepy as it keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. I didn't challenge any forms or conventions, I keep everything how I would want to see in a movie. My thriller is more of a horror thriller genre as it has blood and a scary location. This genre conventions are used to terrify the audience but also keep them on the edge of their feet to keep them interested in the film. I used different ranges of camera shots, medium shots, long shots and close ups as well as zooming into an object and panning. My thriller is also similar to "Sinister".
I chose these thrillers because they both have a horror genre out into the thriller to add more effect on the audience

2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
My media
mainly represents a family group, where there is kids and parents, I have shown
how the family are quite close, and how the child is a bubbly, however I
haven't show the person watching them because it makes the audience wonder who is watching them but the person watching them is obviously being shown as
mysterious and creepy as they are watching the family especially the child. I made the child seem outgoing and family sort of child as children are represented as bubbly, outgoing and giggly - this is how I wanted my child to be presented as. They family are shown quite close which is what family in most movies are like.
3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media
product and why?
I think
Summit Entertainment and Lionsgate would distribute my media product as I have
researched them and they have distributed most of the films that my media
product is the same genre. My Thriller would be shown on Sky Thriller/Horror
movie, as it has the suspense and tension and is also jumpy. These companies
would might like to distribute because they have already produced films like
this which is horrors such as "Sinister".
These companies are big and in America, and America would have a wider range of audience and with these companies people may go see the movie because they have seen other movies from these companies and liked them. Especially if they have seen any of the horror/thriller movies . They would chose my product because they have distribute in other films that is like my thriller product.

4. Who would be the audience for your media product?
My audience would be mainly teenagers from the ages of 15
and onwards. This is because this age group can enjoy thrillers and enjoy the
tension and suspense in movie. My audience is working class so they are able to
see movies if they really want to go see a movie. They would really enjoy this
thriller as it is jumpy, it has suspense, tension and it will also keep them on
the edge of the seats and wanting them to carry on watching the thriller.
This shows the range of ages I had put on the survey and the people that had done the surveys. This shows that 50% was 14 - 18 year olds, which means I can have my target audience for teenagers as they are more of the audience that would watch my product as it is a sub-genre of horror as well as thriller and they may be interested in the product as it has excitement.
5. How did you attract/address your audience?
This shows what my audience would expect in a Thriller and
my Thriller does match up to this, but I think I could of added more
information on the film to give the audience a more of an idea on what the
Thriller is actually about. I addressed my audience by using surveys and asking
them what type of Thrillers they enjoyed and what they expected in a Thriller.
My survey is on this blog, it gave me an advantage to be able to see what my audience expects in thriller movies and when they watch the thrillers as then I would know if my thriller would be right for them.
